Big Tunas Watersports Club

Come join our extremely popular (8 – 16 years) Big Tunas Watersports Club! It’ll be a great introduction to the surfing world, is loads of fun, and you’ll make some awesome new friends!

WHAT IS THE BIG TUNA’S WATERSPORTS CLUB?

Our Big Tunas Watersports club emphasis is on fun, games and gradual confidence building. We do this in a friendly environment with fully qualified Surfing England & SLSGB instructors. All our coaches are first aid trained and DBS checked.

Over the years we have noticed that kids surfing clubs benefit from a different, more flexible structure to that of a private lesson. For this reason Big Tunas focuses on child participation. They provide excellent opportunity to learn about beach safety, sea awareness, surf fundamentals, and much more in a safe and enjoyable way!

The club always starts with a beach lesson, then the rest of the time is spent in the sea. We find this the perfect amount of time to maintain attention before students start getting too tired! Our instructor to student ratio is never more than 8-1. This gives each Big Tuna an equal opportunity to develop their surfing skills.

If you would like your child to gain confidence in the sea, around others, and learn something new, then the Big Tunas is perfect!

Do you provide equipment?

We provide everything required to participate in the lesson. Bodyboards or Surfboards (depending on weather conditions), wetsuits, safety equipment, lockers, toilets, and full changing facilities – located at the shop.

We know how hard recent times have been on all families so we have purposely made our sessions as affordable as possible.

We do ask Parents / Guardians to be situated within close proximity of this session on the first occasion.

Please remember that safety is always our number one priority and these sessions may be cancelled at short notice if it is too dangerous to go out onto the water.
